Driver killed, wife injured as unknown gunmen attack them in Sopore | KNO

A 34-year-old man was shot dead while his wife sustained critical bullet injuries after unknown gunmen opened fire upon them at Harwan area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Official sources told that the unknown gunmen fired upon the Mohammad Ashraf Mir and his wife Saima at around 9:25 pm at their residence at Mir Mohalla Harwan.

Both were rushed to Sub-Dist hospital Sopore where Ashraf was declared as brought dead on arrival, they said. SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal confirmed the incident and said that Ashraf was brought dead to hospital while the condition of his wife is said to be critical. He said that initial investigations has been revealed that Ashraf was driver by profession. “A case has been registered into the incident and investigations taken up,” SSP said.
